TechVentory Terms of Service / User Agreement
Version 1.2 — Effective Date: August 8, 2026
Operating Entity: CService Appliance Repair, Inc., a California corporation
Business Address: 12051 World Trade Dr, Unit 1, San Diego, CA 92128
Legal / Support / Privacy Requests: info@csdcca.com
These Terms govern use of the TechVentory appliance-parts marketplace, including buying, selling, Company Accounts, payments, shipping, messaging, AI assistance, and connected marketplaces.
1. Agreement and Acceptance
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and CService Appliance Repair, Inc., a California corporation doing business through TechVentory ("TechVentory," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern the TechVentory website, applications, marketplace, messaging, payment, shipping, verification, Company Account, AI, and integration features.
By creating an account, accepting these Terms electronically, listing or purchasing an Item, connecting a third-party marketplace, or otherwise using the Service after these Terms are presented, you agree to them. If you act for a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business for the actions you take.
2. Definitions
"Buyer" means a User who purchases or attempts to purchase an Item. "Seller" means a User who lists, offers, or sells an Item. "Item" means an appliance part, component, accessory, tool, or other product permitted on TechVentory. "Listing" means the offer and its description, condition, price, photos, shipping and return information. "Company Account" means a business account with an Owner and invited users. "Connected Marketplace" means eBay or another third-party marketplace a Seller enables.
3. Eligibility and Geographic Scope
Users must be at least 18, have legal capacity to contract, and not be prohibited from using the Service by applicable law. TechVentory is designed primarily for appliance-repair technicians, repair businesses, parts sellers, and other persons capable of evaluating appliance parts. Marketplace checkout at launch is limited to the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. U.S. territories and cross-border Canadian checkout are not currently supported.
4. Accounts and Security
Users must provide accurate account and business information, maintain secure credentials, use required multi-factor authentication when enabled for the account, and promptly report suspected compromise. Accounts may not be sold, shared, or used to impersonate another person or evade enforcement.
5. Company Accounts
A Company Account may include an Owner and invited technicians or other authorized business users. The Owner is responsible for invitations, roster membership, inventory authority, and internal permissions. Company records created through a roster user may remain associated with the Company Account after that user leaves. Personal authentication secrets and payment credentials are not exposed to other roster users merely because of Company membership.
6. Marketplace Role
TechVentory provides technology that helps Buyers and third-party Sellers discover, communicate about, pay for, ship, and manage appliance-related Items. Except where law treats the Company differently for a specific purpose, the Seller is the commercial party offering and supplying the Item and is responsible for the Item, Listing, authenticity, condition, packaging, and fulfillment. TechVentory does not ordinarily own Seller inventory or manufacture, install, or repair Items.
For sales-tax or similar statutory purposes, TechVentory may be treated as a marketplace facilitator, seller, retailer, dealer, or similar statutory party and may collect, report, and remit taxes or fees required by law. That regulatory role does not by itself transfer the Seller's contractual responsibility for the product or Listing.
7. Seller Eligibility and Obligations
A Seller must own or have lawful authority to sell each Item and must provide materially accurate account, tax, payout, contact, and business information. Sellers must cooperate with verification, fraud prevention, tax, safety, recall, payment, shipping, and legal requests reasonably related to marketplace transactions.
8. Listings and Seller Content
A Seller retains ownership of Seller Content but grants the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, transmit, process, translate, and technically modify Seller Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, market, and support the Service and enabled integrations. The license survives removal only as reasonably necessary for completed transactions, backups, disputes, legal holds, safety, fraud prevention, and previously authorized promotion. A Seller represents having rights to every photo, description, logo, document, video, and other submitted material.
9. Product Condition Standards
A Listing must accurately identify the Item's condition. New, open-box, used, refurbished, repaired, tested, untested, OEM, replacement, missing-component, damaged-packaging, and other material status must be disclosed. A Seller must not hide known defects, contamination, corrosion, prior damage, unsafe conditions, missing pieces, compatibility limits, or failed testing.
10. Prohibited and Restricted Items
Prohibited Items include stolen, counterfeit, unlawfully imported, recalled or stop-sale Items; Items with removed or altered identification when unlawful or materially misleading; bulk refrigerant, refrigerant cylinders, compressed gases, mercury-containing controls, unsupported hazardous chemicals, leaking or materially contaminated parts, dangerous pressurized containers, damaged or unclassified lithium batteries, and other hazardous material that the Service has not expressly enabled with an appropriate lawful workflow; and any Item prohibited by law, Stripe, EasyPost, the selected carrier, or an enabled Connected Marketplace.
11. Buyer Obligations
A Buyer must review the Listing, part number, appliance model, dimensions, condition, photos, compatibility information, shipping terms, and Seller return terms before purchase. The Buyer is responsible for professional evaluation and installation of the Item and must not assume that a search result, AI suggestion, cross-reference, or manufacturer name guarantees compatibility.
12. Orders and Contract Formation
An order is formed when payment is successfully authorized and the Service confirms the order, subject to fraud, inventory, legal, safety, or payment review. The underlying purchase is between Buyer and Seller except to the extent law imposes a different statutory role on TechVentory. We may cancel an order before shipment or payout for fraud, duplicate payment, inventory error, prohibited Item, legal restriction, safety concern, or another material marketplace reason.
13. Prices, Fees and Taxes
The Seller sets the Item price subject to marketplace rules. TechVentory may charge marketplace, payment, listing, subscription, or other fees disclosed before the applicable transaction or seller action. Applicable sales, use, marketplace, and similar taxes may be calculated and collected through Stripe Tax or another provider. TechVentory will collect, report, and remit taxes where the Company is legally required to do so; Sellers remain responsible for their own income, business, permit, resale, and other tax obligations.
14. Payments and Stripe Connect
Payments are processed through Stripe and, for Seller payouts, may use Stripe Connect. Buyers authorize the displayed payment when placing an order. Payment processing may involve fraud screening, identity verification, holds, refunds, and disputes. TechVentory is not a bank, and payment balances are not represented as insured deposits, escrow, trust accounts, or general-purpose stored value.
15. Seller Payouts, Holds and Recovery
Seller payouts become eligible according to the payout status and hold rules displayed in the Seller account and may be delayed for delivery, fraud review, chargebacks, returns, safety, legal requirements, provider restrictions, or account verification. If a refund, chargeback, carrier loss, tax adjustment, provider fee, or other Seller-responsible amount occurs after payout, the Seller must repay the amount and authorizes lawful recovery through available payout reversals, future-payout offsets, account balances, or direct repayment. The Company will not claim that a particular automated recovery mechanism exists unless it is actually available for the transaction.
16. Shipping, Delivery and Risk of Loss
The Seller is responsible for accurate package weight and dimensions, safe packaging, legally correct shipping declarations, hazardous-material classification, and compliance with carrier rules. TechVentory may purchase or display labels and rates through EasyPost or another provider. Unless mandatory law or a transaction-specific term requires otherwise, risk of loss remains with the Seller until carrier-confirmed delivery to the Buyer's destination; a carrier claim does not automatically relieve the Seller of the marketplace obligation to the Buyer.
17. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Returns, refunds, and cancellations are governed by the Listing, Seller policy, marketplace rules, and mandatory law. A Buyer should report a materially not-as-described Item, wrong Item, counterfeit concern, material shipping damage, or missing components promptly through the Service and preserve packaging and evidence. A Seller may offer broader returns. A Buyer is not entitled to keep both the Item and a full refund unless the Seller, TechVentory, provider rules, or law allows it. TechVentory may issue a full or partial refund or cancel an order when reasonably necessary to apply these Terms, mandatory law, payment-provider requirements, or marketplace safety rules.
18. Buyer-Seller Disputes
TechVentory may facilitate an ordinary Buyer-Seller dispute but is not a court, arbitrator, product inspector, repair guarantor, or manufacturer. We may review Listings, messages, shipment evidence, photos, payment records, and other relevant information and may decide a platform remedy such as refund, return, payout hold, or account restriction. A platform decision does not eliminate a non-waivable legal right.
19. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Chargebacks are handled through Stripe, card networks, or the relevant bank. Users must cooperate with reasonable evidence requests. A chargeback does not entitle a Buyer to duplicate recovery, and a Seller remains responsible for Seller-caused transaction losses to the extent permitted by law.
20. Verification Program
TechVentory may offer document or account verification. A verification badge means only that specified information was reviewed under the then-current process. It does not guarantee identity, licensing, insurance, business status, product authenticity, Listing accuracy, transaction performance, or competence. Where the INFORM Consumers Act or another law applies, TechVentory may collect, verify, update, disclose, and retain seller identity, contact, bank/payee, tax, and other information and may suspend sellers who fail to provide required information.
21. Artificial Intelligence Features
AI features may suggest part numbers, names, categories, descriptions, measurements, compatibility references, translations, photos or search results, and other Listing fields. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, non-unique, incompatible, unsafe, or legally restricted and is not verification. Every AI-assisted Listing field remains editable and must be reviewed and confirmed by the Seller before publication. The Seller remains responsible for the final published Listing. Enabled AI content may be processed by OpenAI or another disclosed provider; separate search tools may send search terms to a search provider.
22. eBay and Third-Party Integrations
A Seller who connects eBay or another marketplace authorizes TechVentory to transmit and synchronize the information needed for the enabled function. The connected third-party account remains governed by that marketplace's terms; for eBay, the connected eBay account remains the seller of record on eBay. Disconnecting stops future synchronization and removes or disables connection credentials as supported, but it does not guarantee that previously published third-party Listings are ended or removed. The Seller remains responsible for managing live third-party Listings.
23. Messaging and Communications
Messaging may be used only for lawful marketplace communications. Harassment, threats, fraud, spam, malware, discrimination, evidence manipulation, and attempts to move a transaction off-platform to avoid fees, safeguards, records, taxes, or enforcement are prohibited. Authorized personnel may review messages when reasonably necessary for support, fraud prevention, safety, disputes, compliance, legal requests, or enforcement.
24. Intellectual Property and Platform License
The Service, software, interface, database structure, normalization rules, search tools, Company content, and TechVentory branding are owned by or licensed to the Company. Users receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended marketplace purpose. Users may not scrape, bulk-download, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, or create a competing database from Company content except where law expressly permits it.
25. Copyright, Trademark and Counterfeit Complaints
Users may report copyright, trademark, counterfeit, or authenticity concerns to info@csdcca.com. A complaint should identify the claimant, the right asserted, the complained-of material or Listing, its location, relevant evidence, and a good-faith basis. We may remove or restrict material while reviewing a complaint and may preserve evidence. We do not represent that sending a notice to this email creates or confirms any statutory safe-harbor status or designated-agent registration.
26. Privacy and Data Use
The TechVentory Privacy Policy explains how account, marketplace, payment, shipping, verification, message, AI, integration, device, and security information is collected, used, disclosed, retained, and protected. Users must not submit unnecessary sensitive information in Listings or messages.
27. Suspension, Restrictions and Termination
We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts; hide or remove Listings; block checkout or messaging; cancel orders; hold payouts; revoke verification; disconnect integrations; or preserve evidence when reasonably necessary for fraud, security, safety, prohibited Items, intellectual-property concerns, payment default, provider requirements, legal compliance, or repeated policy violations. Where practical and safe, affected users may submit relevant evidence for review.
28. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service, search results, AI features, shipping tools, payment tools, verification features, and third-party integrations are provided on an as-available basis. TechVentory disclaims implied warranties that may lawfully be disclaimed, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and a particular transaction or product result. Sellers, not TechVentory, provide the product warranties expressly stated in their Listings.
29. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost data, loss of use, or substitute goods arising from the Service, except where such limitation is prohibited. For claims that may lawfully be limited, the Company's aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) fees paid to TechVentory by the claimant during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) $500. Nothing in this document excludes or limits liability, rights, remedies, duties, or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any disclaimer, release, limitation, indemnity, or allocation of responsibility applies only to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, including California Civil Code section 1668.
30. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, a Seller will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company and its personnel from third-party claims arising from the Seller's Item, Listing, infringement, counterfeit or authenticity issue, product defect, recall, packaging, shipping declaration, tax or permit breach, unlawful sale, or material breach. A Buyer or other User will similarly indemnify for claims arising from that User's unlawful misuse, fraud, unauthorized content, or material breach. No indemnity shifts responsibility that cannot lawfully be transferred.
31. Informal Resolution, Governing Law and Courts
California law governs to the extent permitted by law, without displacing mandatory law applicable to a transaction or party. Before filing an ordinary claim against the Company, the claimant must provide written notice describing the dispute and allow 30 days for informal resolution. Except for a matter eligible for small claims court or required to proceed in another mandatory forum, the parties consent to the state and federal courts located in San Diego County, California. These Terms do not require pre-dispute arbitration or a blanket advance waiver of a civil jury.
32. Claims Deadline and Procedural Limits
Marketplace return and dispute windows govern platform remedies but do not shorten a non-waivable statutory claim period. These Terms do not impose a blanket one-year limitation period, class-action waiver, or pre-dispute jury waiver where enforceability is uncertain or law would prohibit it.
33. General Terms
Legal notices and intellectual-property complaints may be sent to info@csdcca.com. When physical notice is required, send it to 12051 World Trade Dr, Unit 1, San Diego, CA 92128. We may update these Terms prospectively with reasonable notice of material changes. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Electronic records and signatures may be used to the extent permitted by law.
